Masturbation Techniques
Chapter 2

You may also find it pleasurable to touch other parts of your body to further arouse yourself when you are masturbating. Many women like to rub their inner thighs together or caress them with their hands. You may also want to try stroking or squeezing your breasts - particularly the nipple area with your free hand.

Another popular and easy masturbation technique is rubbing your genital area with a pillow. Some women lie on their backs and hold the pillow in their hands and do this, while others stack and straddle them on the bed, lying face down while rubbing back and forth. You may also wish to vary this method by rubbing your clitoris with something soft, such as clothing or material made of silk or velvet.

If none of these methods were very effective for you, or you would like to try something different, a good idea is to get into the bathtub, and with your legs open, and run the tub with the water from the tap hitting your genital area. Make sure the water isn't too hot or cold though! This method may be attempted more easily if you have a detachable shower head. As a rule, the rushing water provides good stimulation, without too much pressure which otherwise you may find uncomfortable.

Contrary to popular belief, the majority women do not attain much pleasure by way of the insertion of foreign objects or their fingers into their vaginas while masturbating. This is because the clitoris generally needs to be stimulated to achieve orgasm, and the inside of the vagina has very few nerve endings, and thus very little feeling. If you have never had anything inserted into your vagina other than a penis or a tampon, you may consider trying it to see if it feels good for you. You can experiment with food items including cucumber which may be shaped to your desired length and girth, or other similar produce found in your refrigerator. This is a good method for determining what size of dildo might best suit your needs should you wish to purchase one at a later date. A dildo is certainly a little more sanitary to utilize in masturbation, and you will not lose little bits of food within you that that may form bacteria and potentially cause difficulties down the road. If you do use a dildo, it is often a little easier if you lubricate it. There are many good lubricants on the market suited to a variety of purposes however it is important to note that hand lotion is not really a good option, as it often contains perfumes that may irritate the skin, especially an organ as sensitive as your vagina. Petroleum based products (such as Vaseline and baby oil) are also destructive to condoms and other latex products. Even though we generally recommend trying a dildo before any other object, there is no restrictive limit as to what you can use. Some women will use anything that is easily available at the time ranging from candles to wine bottles, though we will state now that you should consider any potential risks or mishaps before you insert the object. It may be most embarrassing and potentially harmful if you got anything stuck or broken off in there.
